Podcast Production Workshop

As a partner for the Nordic Asia Podcast, the Centre/Graduate School is organizing a Podcast Production Workshop to provide practical training for participants to embark on the exciting journey into the world of podcasting. PhD candidate Joanne Kuai is an experienced journalist and podcaster producer and will be the instructor of the workshop. The venue will be the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University, where we will also be able to use the university’s studio.

For PhD students within the Graduate School we will fund travel and accommodation. Other interested can apply and attend if there is space.

Agenda and further information

This one-and-a-half-day workshop covers all the essential aspects of podcast production, from concept development to recording to post-launch engagement, ensuring participants leave with a comprehensive understanding of how to produce a podcast.

This hands-on interactive workshop will start from the basics and requires no prior experience. The topics we will cover include:

The participants will have the opportunity to participate in practical exercises and produce their own podcast episodes in the professional podcast recording studio at Lund University. The program is as follows:

Instructor: 

Joanne Kuai is a PhD Candidate at Karlstad University, Sweden with a research project on "Journalism as an Institution in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." She is an affiliated PhD student with the Graduate School of Asian Studies at Lund University, Sweden, an instructor for JournalismAI Academy hosted by LSE, UK, and a regular contributor to the New Books Network Podcast. Her research interests centre around data and AI for media, computational journalism, and the social implications of automation and algorithms.
