Reflections on doing a PhD
At this event, recent PhD candidates and those who are about to finish their PhD will share their experiences. They come from different disciplines and universities but their theses focuses on some aspects of Asian societies. At the event they will discuss, among other things, the area vs discipline challenges, if any, how they have chosen which courses and workshops to take, issues related to fieldwork and departmental duties, if applicable, and their publication and career strategies during their PhD as well as others issues. Their experiences will also provide some ideas for the development of the Graduate School in Asian Studies.
