Workshop: Digital Methods

Join us at the Centre for a two-day workshop on digital methods in Asian Studies organised by the Graduate School in Asian Studies. The workshop, envisioned as a meeting between established researchers and PhD students, will take place in person in Lund on Wednesday 20^th and Thursday 21^st March. PhD students working with (or who wish to work with) digital methods in Asian Studies are welcome to apply.

At the workshop, senior participants will present their work and share their knowledge of digital methods. They will address not only the practicalities of digital research, but also the broader questions of why we use digital sources and methods, and what, ultimately, they can tell us. The workshop will delve into three topics: Digital technologies and tools for research, digital spaces as research sites, and best practice for digital methods. There will also be sessions where participating PhD students can present the digital aspects of their work and receive feedback on how they might best use digital methods.

The workshop will begin on the morning of the 20^th and end on the afternoon of the 21^st. We will accept up to 10 PhD candidates to keep the event small and interactive. Participation and three nights of accommodation are free, and lunches, one dinner and light refreshments will be provided. The Graduate School will pay for travel to and from Lund for PhD candidates enrolled at Swedish universities but other participants will need to organise and pay for their own travel.
